AMAZING ADVICE TO HELP YOU SELL YOUR HOME FAST
Selling your property can be stressful, but following these five recommendations will make the process go more easily.
Stage the outside of your home
Remember that a potential buyer’s initial impression of your home is from the outside. An unsightly exterior could jeopardize your house selling. Buyers are more likely to say, “This property is beautiful, but I don’t believe it’s for me,” if your home doesn’t have excellent curb appeal despite it being stunning on the inside. Fresh paint and immaculate landscaping should be used to stage the exterior of your home. Outdoor furnishings depicting a Sunday breakfast on the deck can entice purchasers to imagine entertaining and spending time outside with friends and family in their new home’s backyard.
Don’t restrict access
A good rule of thumb to remember is, homes not seen are not sold. Make it as easy as possible for buyers’ agents to bring their clients to your home. Agents will most likely skip over your home and move on to your competition if they have to jump through hoops like booking appointments well in advance to show your home or making appointments during a specific time window.
De-personalize
Start packing up any personal objects as soon as you decide to put your home on the market. Put anything in storage that makes your home yours (family photos, religious décor, souvenirs, and so on). Buyers want to imagine themselves living in your home, which is tough to do if they are met at every turn by your personal belongings identifying the space as yours.
De-clutter
It may be difficult to declutter, but you must remove anything that prevents potential homebuyers from seeing the home they are purchasing. All of your belongings, particularly those on counters, tables, and other flat surfaces, should be packed. It’s a good idea to clean out your closets, cabinets, garage, and even your refrigerator. Is there anything in your house that you haven’t used in more than a year? Consider donating it or discarding it. Give away what you can, toss as much of what’s left, and then pack the rest to prepare for the move. You don’t want people’s attention on the clutter rather than the flow of the room.
Light up your home
Any room appears bigger, airier, and more appealing in the right light. The amount of light in your home can have an impact on how prospective buyers perceive it. It is also a relatively inexpensive staging strategy. Allow a lot of natural light in your home. Replace or repair any broken lighting. Remove the drapes, clean the windows, replace the lampshades, increase the wattage of your light bulbs, and trim the bushes outside to increase the light in your home. Turn on all lights and open all curtains and blinds before leaving for work each day.
